They burst on to the scene a couple of years back. At the time, they were the latest thing in alternative medicine. Detox foot pads - but do they work?

Foot detox pads have been said to increase your stamina and improve your overall health. Are they effective? Seems too good to be true. Let's look at the claims and break them down. As we know from earlier posts, our bodies are continually overburdened with toxins that exist in our environment. Our systems are constantly battling these toxins to keep healthy and thrive. Our bodies are bombarded by toxins and at times, we need to assist our systems in its efforts to detoxify.

Japanese detox foot pads claim to cleanse our bodies of toxins. Daily, our bodies continually detoxify naturally through processes such as sweat, defecation and simple exhalation. These are functions our bodies perform automatically. Can even the best detox foot pads assist with these processes?

How do detox food pads work? The theory is that they react with the reflexology points that are located in the soles of your feet. They are said to gently draw out toxins that would otherwise lie dormant in your systems.

When you remove a used pad, you actually will be left with a sticky residue that collects on the detox foot pad. This residue is said to be the residue from waste excreted from your body. Made from natural ingredients, the detox foot pad is certainly not dangerous. There is nothing that needs to be taken internally nor is there any ingredient that will secrete into your system.

To use the pads, you simply place them over the arch on the bottom of your foot before you go to bed. They are meant to work while you are asleep to gently draw toxins out. When you awake, simply remove them (take a look at what is there, of course!) and throw them in the garbage. I have not tried detox foot pads.

Do they work? Some people swear by them. And, they are huge in the Asian market. So, who knows. They are inexpensive, easy to use, and harmless. If you inclined to give them a try, I would say - go for it! If you feel energized, great! I might be curious to see what is left on my pad in the morning when I get up. But, I'm not sure if I am curious enough to give them a try. But, I have learned to never say never. If anyone tries them and has success, please do let me know. I’d love to hear your story!
