- How precise are your goals?
- How assessable are your goals?
- How adaptable are your goals to your lifestyle?
- What changes will need to be made?
- Are your goals realistic?
- Set up some time-based goals that you can meet in the short term
2. How is your diet today? When you have come up with some solid goals, take a good look at what you are eating. In order to lose body fat, your diet must be adapted so that it contains the right types of foods and the wrong ones are eliminated.
In order to lose body fat, try these tips:
- Eat some meals every couple of hours instead of larger meals 3 times per day by doing this, you will help your body to maintain its metabolism throughout the day and keep insulin levels in check.
- Include complex carbs, quality protein and fiber in your diet.
- Eat good fats and avoid harmful fats. Fats that can be found in olive oil, avocados, nuts and coconut oil are healthy fats. Avoid hydrogenated fats. We all need fat in order to function efficiently.
- Focus on complex carbohydrates and avoid simple carbs. We need at least 50-100 grams of quality carbs each day in order to melt fat and meet the requirements for energy that our central nervous system and brain need.
- Drink enough water. We all need at least half of our body weight in ounces of water every day - even more if you are expending large amounts of energy. Proper water consumption keeps your body flushed of toxins and hydrated.
- Avoid alcoholic beverages as they are devoid of nutrition and packed with empty calories.
- Don't use table salt as it is detrimental to your health. Instead opt for sea salt which is rich in important minerals that are needed by our bodies.
- Stick to natural foods such as fresh, organic produce, whole grains and nuts. A couple of times a week add some fatty fish such as salmon that is rich in heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids. Avoid processed foods. They are filled with empty calories, harmful fats and refined sugars and carbohydrates.
3. Exercise - You may lose fat by improving your diet. However, you will improve your health to a greater extent and reduce body fat more quickly if you incorporate exercise into your regime. You cannot reach your full potential without including a good exercise program. By performing a regular exercise routine, you will be improving muscle mass which will help you to burn more calories. The results you will see more quickly will encourage to stick with the program you have set for yourself.
We only have one life to live. If we take care of ourselves, we will be rewarded with good health. Without our health, we really don't have much, do we?
