Change your lifestyle

If you want to be a healthy weight watcher in order to maintain your weight successfully, most often this means changing your lifestyle. It is not easy, but worth it. You do not have to be totally consumed about your weight, which is not healthy. But you will have to stay focused on eating right, getting enough exercise and avoiding trigger foods that you know will put you back on the wrong track again. It is okay to cheat once in a while, but you can not let it become a regular event. Give yourself a nice dinner out every few weeks, but do not fall back into old habits.

Replace bad foods with better food
There are some foods that you may never be able to enjoy large amounts of again. There are other foods that can be simply too dangerous for you to eat anymore. These are called trigger foods, as mentioned above. These are foods that can start you in a downward spiral, which can be almost impossible to overcome. If you simply can not eat a single piece of chocolate cake, it's better to avoid eating it at all than risking falling into old habits that are detrimental to your health.

Replace the cake with something that will still satisfy your sweet tooth and chocolate craving, but does not activate your old behaviors. This works for any food, not just the cake, you just can not control your reaction. However, you can look at it this way -- which would you prefer - a few bites of cake or a longer life? A bit extreme, yes, but sometimes you have to get tough with yourself.

Treat every day as a new challenge
If you've fallen off the wagon, do not let the cycle continue. Each day is a new day when we will have the opportunity to succeed at living a healthy lifestyle. We all fall from time to time, but not everyone can get back up. Stop that cycle of falling and staying down, and start realizing that you are on a permanent track toward getting healthy. It is okay to take a break for a few days, but do not let it extend for weeks, months and years. Get back in that saddle!
